It's been ages since I've updated this mess.

So, last night I went to the mall with Evan and her family. Evan and I ended up separated from her dad and brother. We're looking at these awesome jackets and I say, "I love winter clothing 'cause you can get all covered up in them." and this black woman that over-heard us talking goes, "Honey, don' you cover yo' self up. You got to love yo' self or you cain't love no body else." and she repeated variations of this for like ten minutes while I just kind of smiled and nodded with the occasional, "Ok." Then she was all like, "I think I'm the finest thang that evah walked this earth." and I mean, some of what she was saying was really nice and all, but that didn't make the entire situation any less awkward. Anyway, it was weird. Evan was just like, "I'm sorry." and I said, "I'm just glad you were here to witness it. At least now you know I'm not making this stuff up."

It's kinna like this lady I met in Wal-mart one day, but it was so ridiculous it would take me forever to explain. I will tell you at one point in the conversation she grabbed me by the arm and dragged me to her buggy. After explaining the contents in great detail she gets really close to my ear and goes, "Did you know that tumeric can cure Alzheimer's? Every time I cook I just take a pinch and stick it in my mouth." I mean, how do you respond to these things?

Anyway, back on topic, whatever that might be. I've been reading the Haruhi novels online. The fourth one has been my favorite, hands-down. It was really great, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, there's a new anime out called "Kimi ni Todoke." It's FREAKING adorable. It's about this girl who looks like the girl from "The Ring" and everyone's scared to death of her, but then there's one boy (of course) who's not. It's really sweet. I bought the first volume of the manga last night. Also, "Serial Experiments Lain" is like the Donnie Darko of anime. I have YET to figure out what the hell is going on in it. Finally, I watched NANA and read the manga. Volume 22 is the last volume and all of it hasn't been released yet. It's KILLING ME. I NEED to know what happens. I mean, SERIOUSLY WAY TO LEAVE ME HANGING. It was another enjoyable series, though, I have to say. It has a lot of great music.

Work has been horrible this week. I've had to get up at five a.m every morning nearly, and the one morning I didn't, my mother woke me up at seven. I was like, "WHYYYYYYY~" I'm going to meet a friend for lunch sometime this week, so I'm looking forward to that. I also have to get Evan's birthday present. NO IDEA WHAT I'M GETTING HER. Actually, I just got an idea, so I'll probably get her that.

Now for music. I've found some AWESOME music lately. If you haven't yet, you seriously need to listen to some of Imogen Heap's new music off of Ellipse. Now, my personal favorite is "Tidal" but your mileage may vary. While there's some that I like more than others, there isn't a track on that album that I don't like.

Another band I've recently discovered is IAMX. They did a collaboration with Imogen called "My Secret Friend" (which has an EXTREMELY weird video, btw) that's really good. However, they have some good stuff themselves. Again, my favorite tracks on their newest album are "Tear Garden" and "The Great Shipwreck of Life". The last Imogen Heap thing I'm going to mention is her unique take on Michael Jackson's "Thriller". Most die hard Michael Jackson fans are not going to like it, as they'll probably be insulted. However, I found it pretty refreshing and her her voice is amazing.

Ok, finally. I haven't heard much off of this album, but I heard a new song by Florence and the Machine called, "The Drumming Song". Ugh. This song makes me wish I could dance.

Last story: I baked a cake tonight. After following the recipe to a freaking "T" (It's a pretty difficult recipe), I finally get everything combined with the mixer. I taste the batter and immediately was like, "WTF?!"........
I forgot the sugar. I mean, REALLY. What the crap is wrong with me? Luckily, putting the sugar in at the end didn't mess it up at all. Well, I can't say it didn't at ALL because I don't know what it would have tasted like if I had sifted it in with everything. Either way, it turned out good.
